im trying to research whippet lines but am just starting to do so. id love to know if theres any thing as useful a old laguna lines and if anyone knows any literature i can read on present lines.

The thing is laguna old lines could be tested in the coursing field, sadly most whippets dont see hares.

If you take membership of TWWF pm Tony Dent and Tripletree, they have vast knowledge of Whippet lines,and have lots of info on the coursing lines and Laguna.
