Miikee-L 72
I have had 2 packs of aa field 4.52 and both packs brought from 2 different places both have a load of pellets with badly damaged skirts, compared to jsb diablo field 4.53 prllets that i have also been trying, just wondering if this is common with the aa pellets or have i just been unlucky? Any advice much apperciated! ATB Mike Quote Link to post
doggame 3
Hi mate no you not unlucky.every pack i brought had some skirts bent .But i can't change my pellets as there the best for my rifle Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I had that many AA and JSB pellets with damaged skirts that I gave up buying them, they were that bad, over 20% were unusable in one tin, I bought 3 different tins of AA Field, from 3 different gun shops, 3 different batches, all had over 10% of the pellets damaged beyond use. They are not the cheapest out there to begin with let alone after you throw nearly 100 away, so I swapped to Crosman over 18 months ago, since then I have found one bad pellet (I dropped it on the floor and stepped on it)! Miikee-L 72
Thanks for the replys lads! At least now i know its not just bad look! I am still in the process of trying out pellets so i will try more, but if aa prove best then air arms it is! Not very impressed with the amount i can not use tho! Anyway thanks lads! And secretagentmole what crossmans are you using? Just interested in trying them! Atb mike Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I use the Premier Ultra Magnums in .177 (10.5 grain, they hit like a brick) and Premier (from die number 7) in .22. The Premier pellets I use are from a single die, so every pellet is near as damn it identical... Quote Link to post
moxy 617
That's a poor do if your claiming nearly twenty percent are bad. I would be raising the issue with AA With the price of lead being at a premium and the cost of a tin of pellets at nearly fifteen nicker in some shops. I would be straight on the blower. 1 Quote Link to post
AirgunGuy 362
They are very soft. Used to use them but they are dear and i found a pellet almost as good for much less. If its just the skirt thats bent slightly you can insert the head of another pellet and twist it to flare it out again...works if they're not too bad Edited March 30, 2013 by AirgunGuy Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Seems a lot of fannying around for a premium priced product. You want it right from the off. AA need telling. 10-20 percent is no good. Your right about the thin skirts. Lol. They may have to bubble wrap each individual pellet. 1 Quote Link to post

It does seem a bit of messin about and for a top price product its not good. I never had that many if memory serves...a dozen or so per tin maybe 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Of which can be expected. Especially when you start whittling your way through the tin and they become looser. Does the tin have " fragile. Handle with care " stamped on it. Lol. Quote Link to post

Craig Fosse 286
I always av ad the problem but can't find a better pellet than aa, I must admit though I brought a tin off ebay from Swindon models and the tin was great, to limit damage now I clean and leave the tin at the bottom of my gun locker and take 100 out with me hunting at a time, 60 in a padded pill box and 40 in a roll mat which has holes punched in for them to sit nicely, I have tried bisley pest all the h and n range but no other pellets better.
