outandabout 27
What is a pheromone? Why would a manufacturer use a pheromone in a formulation intended for insect control? State the type of metomorphosis for 5 different insects (they give you a list) What is the correct procedure when e.g. you are handling powder insecticide - decanting or weighing out, and you spill the container, covering yourself and spilling onto the floor. They do ask a couple of health and safety questions, e.g. working at height etc. Are self locking snares legal in this country? Explain the answer above, or if the bloke who wrote the paper is being mean, under what section of the wildlife & countryside act does this come under? DIDO.1 22,865
Thats a bit of a strange one jack? go on whats the answer? ekpestcontrol- I will brush up on pheromones, I know the answer but will go over it again just so Iv got the right words and descriptions. Will also go over procedures for spillages and emergancies. Again know the answer but want it to sound right so it dosnt sound like i'm bluffing it. With regards to legislation iv just roughly learned the main acts, if sections of acts come up i'm stuffed! Been at this revision for weeks but can only stick a couple of hours at a time. DIDO.1 22,865
questions really helping, I think the questions are all roughly the same just coming from a different angle. Making me think about the wording of answers Quote Link to post
outandabout 27
Shouldn't be too in depth on the legislation, but self locking snares is a favourite question apparently, and it came up in my exam last year. You could probably answer something like the spillage example question with bullet points. Makes it clear & concise. I might be wrong but might save you getting muddled up writing a complicated answer? Ah yes, they'll almost definitely ask what mammals can be controlled using aluminium phosphide pesticides. I'll leave it there. Good luck for Friday. Quote Link to post
DIDO.1 22,865
cheers pal. Iv put the revision hours in so cant do anymore! Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Just remember to 'bulk out' your answers. The examiners want to see that you don't just know the right answer, but that you know why it's the right answer. Oh, and I know I keep banging on about it, but this is NOT the BPCA anything; it's the RSPH level 2. Good luck, let us know how you get on, and then you'll have the long wait for the results.
