zini 1,939
I went out for a few hours today to check zero / fine adjust the .22 VHTV Spectre and .177 Pro Sport and then do a bit of static hunting. After getting all the info i wanted out to 55 yards for both rifles i went and shot another 5 shot group with the Spectre on a piece of plastic at 55 yards that was covered by a 5p . It seems to love H and N now its doing a consistent 10.9 FPE. Happy with that i went and shot these 2 beauties within a half hour. The first one was at 20 meters and the second one was just at 10 meters. Hopefully me and Davy will have the full review out of the VHTV Spectres within the next few weeks. Its almost finished and 99% edited. Si Edited March 3, 2013 by zini 4 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
very nice Si looks like the spectre is on song mate, How would you rate it compared to your 97 mate.ATB Aaron The Spectre is now starting to smooth out lovely Aaron and shoots like a dream at 10.9 FPE, very accurate and very quiet for a springer, but i still think the HW97KT would have the edge on it at the moment mate as that's shot thousands of pellets through its barrel and now its super smooth after Tony re tuned it last weekend for me, getting the power just right. The 97 almost shoots itself its that smooth and easy to use now. Id be happy to put it up against my .22 HW100KT knowing it would keep up with ease. I think the weight of the 97 helps where the Spectre is very un forgiving to shoot and I have really had to tighten up and improve my springer shooting technique to get the result that i now am. As it is when i do my bit like today it will put 5 pellets under a 5p at 55 yards which is as good as alot of lads with their pcps i reckon.. You will see in the video review mate as Ive videoed some groups being shot . Si. Edited March 3, 2013 by zini Quote Link to post

You can try it then if you want as ill bring it along. I would use it myself but i really want to see what this Spectre can do in competition as i have a good feeling it will do very well after using it the last few times. Si. Quote Link to post

You wont go wrong with a Stage 2 tuned HW97KT from Tony Wall mate. Davy as already got his in getting tuned to stage 2 now with Tony. Once there tuned and they have shot about 400 to 500 pellets through their barrels they will smooth right out and hit bulls eye after bulls eye with ease. You just have to keep a eye on their power mate as when they smooth out they become so efficient the power can sore and they may need taking down slightly. Mine went right up to 14 FPE at one stage but shot better than my Pro Sport does now. Its now doing 11.5 FPE with H and N and is smoother than it ever was. My Spectre did the same and went up to 12.6 FPE after beddng in. Its now sitting at a VERY consistent 10.9 FPE with a filmed (will be in the review) shot to shot TOTAL deviation of just 3.3 fps over 5 shots. Si. Edited March 3, 2013 by zini 1 Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Very nice! look forward to seeing it in action.. I doubt very much anyone else will be shooting one at the champs!! ATB Adam You never know Adam as Tony as already received emails from people asking about them. He is doing a run of 30 of them to start with, each one will be serial numbered. Me and Davy have no 1 and 2 so there may be another 28 soon, who knows. Si. Quote Link to post

Mawders 595
Brilliant result si, the spectre looks and sounds like an awesome rifle! My stage 1 tuned 95 from tony last summer had a deviation of 2 to 3 fps as well over a ten shot string. Very consistent rifles that tony tunes and I agree, keep an eye on those power levels, mine crept up to 13ft/lb and had to go back after 500 to 700 pellets. Quote Link to post
