fitchet 788
Well what a shitty end to a good season ive had due to a scummy little prick who ive helped out.3 days ago me and a friend were out with the dogs looking for a good race to end the season. I had my saluki x and my bull/grey and he also had a saluki x. We walked some cover through and managed to get a good race on a nice few critters bouncing across the fields. All three were slipped into them. After a good run they entered the cover closely followed by the dogs. The bull/grey and my mates dog returned empty mouthed but of my white dog there was no sign. After waiting a fair old time we decided to get some lamps and batteries and set of and look for him thinking he was either with quarry or injured. The lads who dropped our gear of one of them isnt even into running dogs but he came out with us and gave us a hand trying to find him so respect to him. We looked for the dog in a massive forestry block until the batteries were dead so i went back to where we slipped and called and called. It was early hours of the morning by this time so i told the lads to get themselves home but fairplay to them they stayed. To cut a long story short we stayed till it got light had another search but no luck. So i got home and put the word out id lost my dog to a few lads and asked them to keep an eye out in the area and rang around local dog wardens/rescues. I kept walking the land where we lost him but i just had a feeling he wasnt there. Anyway i got a phone call from someone saying so and so got your dog. Now id asked him to keep an eye out as i had grown up with this lad and he didnt live too far from where we lost him. He had seen the dog run previously and had offered me money for the dog. Anyway got to the fellers house and asked him had he seen my dog and he said yeah his uncle had found it running along a country lane. I asked why hadnt he told me and he gave the excuse he was going to ring but didnt have no way to ring me. Anyway after some aggro i got my dog back and apart from a nasty looking but not too bad cut (wich my so called mate had made no effort to clean) hes fine. Now thats my lesson learned no matter how long youve known someone they can still do you a bad turn due to jealousy of wich there is too much of in this game. A big thankyou to everyone who helped me out i honestly cant say how gratefull iam. Hope you all enjoy the little bit of running time thats left. But be carefull who you take out as even good men can turned into green eyed monsters. All the best. Quote Link to post

BORDERSCOT 3,816
Learned a long time that the only person I trust 100% in this game is myself. Had real shit in the past 'cause mouths weren't kept shut... ...long story!!!! Tried to but can't forget Good old dog man once told me "If anyone asks just say you don't know" - sage advice I reckon!!!! 4 Quote Link to post
