Red Squirrel Conservation

HI, which traps do you use, there is alot mentioned re, the L shaped ?

what type of woodland do you trap in, and i take it there isn't any reds present, what sort of numbers do you get and how affective do you find traping

 

I am interested in re establishing reds and work on that subject thanks for the reply

Mature conifers the traps were supplied by red squirrel group single entry cover mine with old branches but leave both ends clear so its like a tunnel spread maize around outside and in trap works great for me but I am no expert just getting into it if anyone else got advice that would be good to hear.

Thanks for the replies, i was reading a idea of chemically nutering the greys not sure how they would achieve this, they seem to be quite alot of red support groups out there and a keeper friend who deals alot with natural england and the like on a regular basis says that looking out for the red seems to be the buzz word at the min
