gnasher16 31,602
I thought Lennon was a touch naive last night, its all very well saying " they had a go in the first half ".....but when you look at sides like Stoke or Sunderland they play very cagey against better sides and try to nick a goal they dont come straight out blasting.....West Brom only got out their own half a few times the other night but still beat Liverpool 2 nil........ It surprised me because i thought he got it spot on against Barcelona.
baw 4,360
Totally agree gnash, I honestly think he got caught up in his own hype. He should have seen out till half time. By time half time came we had very little left. It's a young fit side but adrenaline can sure knacker you just the same.
Lab 10,979
Nah can't agree it was the Italians wi cramp more than us. Another night it could we could have been 3 up in the first half. We have had our luck in the group stages and it ran out last night. The Italians were clinical at finishing but we gifted them 2 goals. Lennon got his interview spot on buy he should have manned up and said he made a mistake with ambrose!!
RossM 8,149
Celtic just didnt make buffon work, ball was more or less straight down his throat.
bracken boy 584
celtic did there best with [BANNED TEXT] they have, juve at 1.0 let celtic have the ball in most parts but shut them down 27 yards out. bad choice playing effie but hindsights agreat thing. should have shot more also, but not slagging them as done well to get this far

Oh I agree lab, they were f****d too. But they had skill in their side lol, we only had agility and we pretty much used it up come the hour.
sams-man 44
Lennon seem to think celtic was the better team for 70%of the game they tried and gave it there best To be fair, the early goal f****d us and we gave it our all first half with nothing to show. We had plenty of chances, mostly long range. Commons did ok, hooper didn't do much but make a nuisance of himself at corners. We didn't look like we'd score all night while they looked dangerous with every attack, which they were. Forrester shouldn't have been in goal and Ambrose shouldn't have played. Young Matthews should have started. All pissing in the wind though cos our best chance of a goal was a deflection cos everything was aimed down buffons throat. why shouldnt Forster have been in goal? he never had a save to make but still lost 3 goals, thats not down to him but down to lennon picking ambrose, even if ambrose said he was fit & ready to play lennon should`ve had big enough ones to tell him no, all he done was cheat everyone for his own personal pride

Easy to say that after the event. The boy was buzzing after winning the African Nations so no way he is gonna say no to a game against juventus. Lennon should have dropped him. But I'm sure he'd have consulted his back room staff in the weeks running upto the game. Ambrose is a class act. He might have been caught cold for the first goal and lost his confidence for the rest of the match. Lennon says he picked him cos of his pace and he's done well with Wilson who isnt entirely blameless for the goal either. know one thing, commons should have kept his comments to himself. Bang out of order laying the blame on him even if its true. You win as a team or get beat as a team. It's easy to hide in the middle of the park surrounded by back up. Yes Ambrose lost us the game but commons sure as f**k didn't help us to win it, unless you win games now without scoring. Yea ok, foster deserved to start, bit harsh on me that one. He's missed 5 games recently through injury and looked rusty to me. You say he isn't to blame for the goals but he must take some blame for the first. Instead of doing a star jump like a leg warmer from fame, he should have just stood tall. He's 6ft 7 or something, don't think Matri contemplated lobbing him. Or even run back to try and defend his goal when Wilson kicked it out. He is too much like samaras for me, you don't know which is going to show up. Aye he has played well recently, but so has samaras and you just know he's going to lose interest again.
