Mis-Print Money

Recommended Posts

Hey up.

Anyone remember those 20p`s with bit`s missing? They were fetching £50 each when they were first found, then as more came to light, the arse fell out of them.... Well a few of years back, I got a mis-print 5er from the bank, and being brand new, I got the consecutive note too, so Ive kept it. I thought I`d contact a coin collector to see what it would be worth, to which he replied, "Oh yeah, that particular mis-print was quite common, its worth about £140, not much.... But if you wanted to sell it we would be interested" :hmm: Anyone ever seen this "quite common" mis-print then?post-45598-0-96773300-1359498844_thumb.jpg The chief cashier has changed from Andrew Bailey to Chris Salmon since.

You wouldn't think they would get put in to circulation ,,, in fact if I ever got one from a bank I would take it back in and say I've got a snide out the machine,,,

Of course now I've seen this thread I would hang on to it,,

I very nearly did Tomo, I come out the bank and went in the shop a few doors up for some baccy, and the woman asked basically WTF, to which I said "oh, a new 5er?" She said no its blank. So off to the bank I marched, I got as far as the shop door before realising I might have something special.. Shortly after getting it, I had a look at ebay and there was an old tenner with a mild mis-print, some of the ink had run... He wanted 10,000....
