Like yourself Elliott i only had the funds for 1 gun when i was granted my FAC(.22 & HMR) which was all i needed/wanted at the time.I'd had a few sessions out on the lamp in my mates jeep with his BRNO .22 so i knew the .22 was the one for my all round shooting. After about 9 months i got a great deal on a CZ HMR,again very happy with it but as time went on i slowly started to dislike it & not due to the price of ammo..it's just too suspect to wind & not as flat shooting as it's made out to be.

Now all that sits in my cabinet is my CZ .22LR & a Remmy .204...just look at how many HMR's are for sale on the sites we hunters/shooters use...that tells the tale of the HMR :hmm:

The hmr Not flat as they make out! It's less affected by the wind than the .22 and the drop at 200y is the same as the .22 at only 100y.

There is a big place for both and I love them both, but it is the users circs and shooting needs that will determine what is best for them.

Had 3 hmrs over the years. some nice top end guns. Sold them all.

Couldnt justify the cabinet space or cost of ammo over the .22 with subs.

Stuck with the trusty old battered and beaten brno mk 2. Honestly, the more scratches and rust it gets, the better it shoots !.
