...........packed away.

I decided to go out with the R-10 today hoping a squirrel or 2 may be out foraging for food. The dog comes in handy for this as she seems to know when they are out and about,by circling the tree she helps me get a good visual and shot off and is always their to retrieve. We set off and arrived at the farm where I park my van, got kitted up and set off.The good thing with snow is it gives away any thing that steps foot in it or on this occasion.......feet.

I zeroed the gun on a old telegraph pole,it showed the power a .177 gun can produce even at sub 12ftlb.... :icon_redface:

Well, those were to be the only shots I would have while out, we walked all the headlands and checked out the woods but never saw a Squirrel or thinking about it a Pheasant all morning. We saw plenty of Roe and flocks of Pigeon but nothing for the pot so the end of morning excursion was finished with a gun and dog shot......013-1_zps482065ae.jpg

We loaded up the van and drove the short trip home, got the gear in the house and put the kettle on.I ran a bath for the dog and lit the fire ready for a quiet afternoon watching the footie. Now for some reason the dog will happily swim in any water or weather it is a river or a cow trough but will not get in the bath. so the trick is to get her outside, shut the doors, grab her and get her in the bathroom where she submits and reluctantly stands while you wash her. This is what I did up to the point of grabbing her because I spotted a big plump Pigeon in the tree at the bottom of the garden.I grabbed the R-10 off the table, stuck in the mag and dropped it to the ground.
