bullit666 5
I think im gonna hold out for this beauty on ebay. Failing that ill give the legend a proper look Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
Without reading everything; A high mag scope is brilliant fun on a .22, if you get any amount of rabbits the challenge soon becomes tagging them bang on . also allows the bullet strike to be seen clearly which adds interest. Air rifle scopes take a heavier recoil beating than a .22 gives, at least the springers and gas ram jobbies do, so I wouldn't worry about too much about your choice being classed as an air rifle scope. Get 1 with finger adjustable turrets and changeable elevation turret dials, some can be had blank and marked for your combo, great fun to dial in shots and shoot on target rather than holdover. Some will argue with that and they would be right, you don't need that facility, but I'm talking about getting max enjoyment out of thinning the bunnies. My choice and I've just found 1. An unused Tasco worldclass 6-24 x 50 scope from the time they were made in Japan, sat in a drawer for 18 years and never seen a gun. 6-24 in whatever scope would be my choice. 1 Quote Link to post
bullit666 5
Lucky man. Id love an old school tasco. Its actually what im holding out for. Another couple of days and perhaps it will be mine. Slightly high on mag. But I always hunt x10 so not worried about dialling it down. Just want to be able to zoom right in like you said. If I dont get the tasco im thinking nikko target master. Quote Link to post
GEOFF.223 83
best for money i have seen yet is the Nixon prostaff rf model which is a dedicated scope for .22 rf its paralax is set to 50yards rather than the usual 100yards and has hold over points and comes with charts for bullet drop using different ammo. had one on a air rifle i sold didn't realise what it was until it was to late. very very good .22 scope Quote Link to post
bullit666 5
Well the tasco custom shop escaped me by £2. Gutted. I think though ill try find a nikon monarch 6-24 bdc. I hear good things and maybe able tobstretch the purse strings if one turns up. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Ok update. Managed to get a monarch 6-24 bdc for £250 brand new! BOOM Whatever floats your boat, there are thousands of scopes out there and we all have an opinion! You were right in an earlier post, you do not have to spend a fortune on a scope for a .22lr, but if you want to then fine. You can also have a big debate about magnification and reticles. Many of the inexpensiveve scopes have remarkably good glass these days but tend to suffer in the overall engineering/build quality! Just the same I'm sure you would have been happy with anything in your original list on top of a .22lr! ATB! 1 Quote Link to post
bullit666 5
Just wanted to get the best I could for the money I have. I think I have managed that. I did go to the rfd and look through as many as possible. I decided that the hawke reticle wasn't for me and the mtc was a bit heavy. I want the magnification and i felt the lense quality and the reticle suited my eye. And with the nikon it stinks of quality in comparison to the others and weighs alot less.
