kilo dab

Hi gang just thought id show you this dab, caught on squid tipped lug from clevedon bristol channel .

my nephews first ever sea fish, beginners luck or what. or did i just bait him up properly ha ha.

it weighed just a tad shy of a kilo. 16 inch

Nice Dab...There a great eating fish, we always get them here in the summer with smelly, smelly old bait...But I have never had one that size

• Nice Dab indeed, i used to fish the Clevedon area of the Bristol channel from Kingston Seymour along the coast to Ladye Bay and usually had a good time.

no mate flounders are rough to the touch,dabs smooth,believe me mate this is a dab smooth as a babys arse and lateral line curves to the left at the head,ive had loads over the years and flounders,but thanks for looking anyway..steve

Na mate,you got them mixed up,the flounder lateral line is almost straight,were as the dabs has a "D" kink,scroll to the bottom of the page......http://www.worldseafishing.com/forums/showthread.php/903969-Difference-between-a-dab-and-a-flounder

cheers for that blackworm,i always thought dabs were smooth and flounder were rough,never mind after years of fishing i learned something new,
