Gaz_1989 9,539
Just some photos of my bitch from over the last couple of months. She was sold to me as Sal/Whip/Grey. When I first got her loads of people said they could see bull and collie. I had an email yesterday off a lad who supposedly bred her and said she is from a coursing Sal/Grey Dam and a Racing Whippet Sire. Now I've been convinced she had collie in her. I was almost certain. She stalks the beam, walks on when told, walks to heel and lamps off the slip, is very very well behaved in the house. Won't enter the living room without being told to, even if the door is open and i aren't there. However maybe I was doubting the saluki cross when I thought these were inpossible asks of the breed? I had a saluki cross a while back and he was a nightmare so I guess I tarnish the whole breed with that brush. Has anyone got a very well mannered and obedient saluki cross? I must add. With her obedience she is very very stubborn at times. Few pics to let me know what you think... Could she be Sal/Whip/Grey? 3 Quote Link to post

fitchet 788
Who gives a shit mate if she can do her job does it really matter ? Alot of people get dogs from unknown breeding and think "oh there quite smart must be some collie in there " or " killed a fox must be some bull in there " when really the dogs just bieng clever and getting the job done. Dont worry about whats in her just worry about getting her out. Atb. 4 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks for the positive comments, I know it doesnt really matter, she is a cracking dog, I couldnt be more pleased with her, shes got her faults, but its nothing I cant work around. The lad is adamant she is Sal/Whip/Grey and Im sure I can see collie in the aface and ears. I was hoping someone would say " I cant see collie in there, she looks like my Sal/Whip/Grey" or "There looks to be Collie in there to me". Cheers Gaz Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
She does look like theres Bull in her IMO, But then likes been said who cares really if she is ticking the boxes that would do me, Quote Link to post
patterdalejoel 669
if she was that breeding surely her head would look like that of a pure sighthound? looks bigger and broader to me, i dont have a clue though, only guessing. Quote Link to post
johnny boy68 11,726
I'd guess she's a lurcher and you can ask another hundred times and it'll still be unknown breeding unless you actually speak to the breeder its all guess work. She's a nice dog just enjoy her and don't get caught up in this she's not listening...she must have saluki in her, she's too clever....must be collie in her. No amount of guess work is going to change how she works for you or what she does.......she is what she is..........A LURCHER. 1 Quote Link to post
