TUFFTY 1,484
I dont think that the problems Bruno faced health wise after his career was over are anything to do with his time in the ring, iirc he had some sort of mental health issues/breakdown? maybe leaving the game and the anti climax of 'normal' life got too him or the stress of a failing marriage, shit like that can happen to anyman, I was never his biggest fan and the first to laugh at him when I was younger but when ya look back he got in the ring with a few tidy sorts over the years, lost some , won some, but ya dont get that belt and worldtitle gifted,so maybe he did look a little 'scared' before Tyson fight, but back then Tyson was the best around and was a vicious fighter, awkward maybe for the taller men, just a proper handful, he had a right to be wary only a fool wouldn't be, give credit where its due imho Yes Frank had a mental breakdown. When your the heavyweight champ o the world and in the main public spotlight for 20 years. Then you end your carrer and then its all gone with nothing to do or look forward to. Thats when it hits you hard. It happens to many boxers after theyve been in the spotlight for a wile. You just gotta be stronger than ever as this illness is Franks biggest fight of hes life.. gnasher16 31,426
Im no expert on mental health....but having known Frank since teenage years id be as sure as sure can be that boxing didnt play a part in the problems he,s having now.......the minds a complicated bit of kit and the thing that sent him on the wonk is nobodies business but his own.
