any tips on ferreting hedgerows

i have never dun hedgerows before im more into warrens seems i dont have a ferret finder should i risk it

Get a locator and collars, pick your hedges if working alone, and invest in some stop nets or pokes to lay through the hedge as well as long nets or pursenets.

Ps) Warrens are where rabbits live, whether in a hedge or a hillside, its all warrens.

cheers buddy yeh i ment hillside warrens.i got purse nets but not yet got a longnet should be getting one next week hopefully

Hello lmj where are you located, I find hedgerows not to be really deep unless they're sandy setts but stop nets or gate nets are a big help as if the purse nets snag whilst pursing the rabbits tend to run up or down the hedge, but you really need a locator box and collars, the ferret could slip out on the other side to where your stood and be gone, atb adam

i dont think anyone should drop a ferret without having a collar an locator . most of the land i hunt is hedgerow sets an purse nets an stopnets do the job

I conseder getting a loctater my friend consedering I haven't begging out with the ferret where i haven't at to dig a few foot and I do ferret a lot off bushes me self

cheers lads im a bit skint atm cant really afford yet but start work in a few weeks so will have to invest in one. where could i get a cheap one to?...thats a lovely bush that lol

eBay is best bet mate ya could get 3 collers and a box for about £200 pound secound hand my friend
