35 months and finally...

Recommended Posts

Well today here where i live after almost 3 years we finally got the new road bridge opened after the last collapsed under a deluge of rain which caused the river Derwent to eradicate several bridges enroute to the sea back in November 2009 and take the life of a police officer who was standing on the bridge trying to turn away traffic from a hole which had appeared in the road on the bridge..i live no more than 200m from the bridge and although the pics are poor you can see Tesco just on the otherside of the bridge..when the bridge collapsed to get from my house to there at one stage involved almost a 100 mile drive as we had to drive to the M6 motorway on the backside of Carlisle which is just shy of 40 mile then from there to Penrith 18 mile and then back into Workington just shy of 40 mile again lol..total chaos it was but anyway we are back up and running..Princess Anne came to open the bridge and arrived via a helicopter  ..anyways here's a few snaps while i was out earlier with the mutt  ..
