Fat-Ferret 857
Ive ferreted a good few unusual places, the best was a big pile of tyres that held a lot of rabbits, I wrapped the long net round it And the rabbits run round inside until we moved almost the entire pile outside the net! I have ferreted inside a commercial greenhouse and the owner took three panes of glass out shooting at bolters! A few other places were interesting, under mobile homes, And on a tarmac road where the rabbits actually dug through, we couldnt peg the nets so just threw them over and the dogs done the rest! Ideation 8,217
If its held rabbits, we've ferreted it! Lots of junk piles, old tips, bankings, piles of brush, old farm machinery, various barns and buildings, stone walls, piles of stone, gardens, sports pitches, river banks, pile of railways sleepers . . . . . . lots more im sure. Have one to do soon on a proper race course (horses), i wont say which one though! Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
Funny one, was digging 8 foot or more, and having to cut down through a buried car! Quote Link to post
fieldsportsman 107
ive bolted rabbits out of pipes before now, which was covered by mud. I nearly walked past it, when i saw rabbit shit on the other end, on when the 2 nets, down went the ferret and out came 1 rabbit. ideation, ever had a problem with ferret laying up in that type of warren Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
FM - Pretty much if the dogs mark it, it gets done. Have had kills in tough places, but i have a couple of ferrets that i know will kill and move on, so just use them. Worst was digging to a lost collar (well two), we got the one out, but couldnt get the other, even after returning the next day with cutting gear, we hit a big roll of chain link fence down there and couldnt get through it all. Fitchet - I'm assuming that was just some kind of moral stance? Quote Link to post

Fair play, i think this is the embankments, not sure of the deal, have not seen it yet. Quote Link to post
Mick C. 229
Once ferreted an outbuilding. The rabbits were behind the hard board panelling that lined the wall' Also had one five foot or so up the middle of a tree Just go off the dog, although some times it does get you scratching your head Quote Link to post
