gloster canaries

earlier this year i got a gloster canary,, it was brought from a cattle market by a friend,, it was sold as pair,,enyway i ended up with one,,all it does is sit on its seed tray and eat,,it even roosts on it ,so i take it out the cage ov a night time,,,,,also it dwarfs my scottish fancy who sings is head of,id recommend one to anybody...as enyone else kept glosters ? im beginning to think it aint worth the price of the seed.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

glosters are not for lots a folk myself include a bird evolved purely for type . atb bunnys.

When you say you dont rate them....in what way do you mean ?.......what i mean is whats a good canary and whats a bad one :blink: ................ive a couple of Glosters seem nice little birds to me but then i wouldnt know good from bad if it flies about and go,s tweet tweet now and again its good im a beginner to all this i dont really know what to expect :D

glosters are only bred for type an to produce the perfect corona so they dont sing aswell as other canarys, they still keep folk happy as pets an small breeding projects but most are bred for show, yours sounds like its got problems tho pal lol

Hi Mate i keep exhibition fifes/glosters/norwich/lizards and diamorphics. It could be a sign of air sac mite if the bird is constantly eating. Just keep and eye on it and if any sneezing starts shot it in an hostpital cage for 2-3 days keeping a close eye on it
