sowhat 1,572
Simple really don't let them off lead together, she's obviously abit sensitive, and you could ruin her . Also she may end up injured or even worse if the staffy hits her with any real force, an accident waiting to happen if you ask me 4 Quote Link to post
porkybella 284
Cheers pal are they normally sensitive as pups i know they only got little bones Quote Link to post
george87 2
Mine was very sensitive mostly around other dogs if they came running towards her, she would run off screaming, she came good in the end tho, as sowhat says don't let the staffy push her around, give her time and she will be fine Quote Link to post

Good Man 196
Anyone that say salukis are whimps, should have a look at this clip below...... Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
A pup of 12 weeks old is like a tiny deer, a prey animal. It is not the big tough predator it should grow up to be as an adult. Not only mentally fragile, but physically too: far too many pups are damaged by playing with bigger dogs: joint damage especially. Being knocked by your staff will be like running into a brick wall. Staffies are very insensitive physically, it's how they've been bred to be. Labradors etc are similar. Sighthounds are far more sensitive both physically and mentally. You should be playing one-on-one games with your pup with the bigger dog safely locked away. Play games which help to build confidence in the pup: gentle tug games, no telling off, encourage physical contact games with you on the pup's terms, not yours. 1 Quote Link to post

ruby16 80
the bitch in my profile pic is a saluki x whippet/greyhound and beleive me shes no whimp but at 12 weeks old you need to be very careful, her bones and muscle both need time to develop moreso in saluki crosses as they are quite fragile as pups, plenty of road walks but not too much for her pads and when you let her off the leed in a field just enjoy her, bond with her and get her to retreive her favorite toy (rabbit skin) back to you, she will develop soon enough and you should end up with a very tasty lurcher.
