My patterdale who is called Lilly

Recommended Posts

Hi can anyone help me?. I have a patterdale called Lilly who is two and a half. She is a dear little dog and causes us no problems at home. She is brilliant with the kids and is well behaved. But the minute I take her out on the lead she is pulling like mad. I really don't know what to do. She can also bark at other dogs for no reason. She seems to be nervous and I don't know why. Plus she is losing fur on odd patches of her body. I have put her on food for sensitive skin and have been bathing her in a product from the vets. I feel I'm at a lost end and don't know what else to do. Can anyone please help me?.

sounds like stress on the loseing hair front. you need to think if theres been any changes at home in some way.

as for the pulling i used to get this with my boy. So i went back to basics. hold a treat in your hand along side your body. the dog should be able to smell it in your palm but not get it. he will aimelsy follow that treat trying to get it. keep it up for a couple of weeks and he should fall back into step. Hope it helps :)

The behavioural points sound like an insecurity issue to me but its impossible to pinpoint the precise cause. If I was closer, I'd come and have a look.

Best of luck,

Duncan
