Is it two early to start ferreting.

Iv been ferreting today with too of my hobs on some permission iv got at some horse fields. Still a lot cover but all the hay has been cut, didn't use nets just wanted to bolt them for my whippets. Did about 8 warrens and didn't bolt one rabbit all morning. Why? This is only my second season ferreting so any help please.

All depends on your ground still alot of half grown about but if you got nice open buries then crack on but most folk have hedgerows as the farmers are so behind most havent started flailing yet :cray: and with the wet summer cover is going to be thick and unless the weather cools off the nettles will be with us till xmas :thumbs:

Been out twice still a lot of cover lost a few due to that but still got some ,just watch out for the heat and keep your ferrets cool

 

Heat what you on about the one : ) is it still a barmy 7 degrees in Scotland : ) : )

 

It was a dam sight hotter than that when i was out according to the car thermometer ,it was a great day at the beach :laugh:
