well is it true that its illegal to shoot crows with a fac rifle . been told they issued for ground game or ground vermin only.. can use a sub 12 ft per lb air rifle i been told for crows etc tho ,, any truth in this ???

i have no additional conditions on my fac air only rimfire and c/f, if it did it would only state for ground game and vermin, are crows not vermin comansense will tell you its not a good idea to be shooting a rimmy upwards but if your sure a 30ft lb 15grn pellet will land within your permision then where is the problem and if you hit what your aiming at it also helps :D

That's bollocks mate as "the one" said, vermin is vermin and the law goes off the dictionary definition of that!

well law may be the law but this is off steve rawland the fiarms enquiry officer for the gwent police force... as i said im unsure.

At best, Enquiry Officers often have a basic knowledge of firearms law compared to some of their customers. Realistically it should be the other way around.

 

What exactly does the condition for your rifle state on your FAC?

 

If it says anything like vermin and ground game then there is no issue.
