I reckon its been 4 to 5 weeks since i came across this kestrel nest...

 

 

 

 

 

well i thought id return today and just check how things were getting on.

It was nice to see that all 5 eggs had hatched and the chicks looked it top condition. :D

:laugh: yeh i know what you mean..... i also "just" came across these recently and they were in 5ft of water :blink:

 

 

 

got a bit wet to take this pic and had to drive home in my underpants :icon_eek::laugh:

 

Ill let you tell me who they belong to????

Who they belong to? Buggered if I'd know, mate! JD's the Egg Man round here. I'm just a very casual observer.

 

I Do know though that they're niether Moorhen nor Coot. I remember that much from my youth. Not Divers either ~ or ye'd have more sense than to show them here! :icon_eek:

 

Ducks tend not to lay such white eggs, as a rule ..... Not Black Headed Gull. Not a Wader. Elimination leads me to suspect Grebe. Dabchick's are said to cover the eggs when they go somewhere ..... Never Great Crested?! :shok:
