Clear, shiney floor stuff

Ive seen a few drives, the kind with fancy brickwork. And they have been painted with some sort of high gloss clear varnish type stuff?

Does anyone know what it might be?

my mate owns his own business doing this moll .... it is a mix like cement and it is poured out then a giant mould is placed on top in sections and thats what gives it the pattern he has about 40 different patterned moulds .... take a close look at one and you will see what i mean

No its definately real brickwork

ya all the farms by me use it to paint there floors to seal them.. It does has a shine to itwen it done .....

Got mentioned to me awhile ago moll, they come out and use an acid to burn the top surface of the brickwork off on your your drive for instance, a block paved drive then they coat it in a clear laquer, reason the bloke mentioned it to me, was his neighbours had it done and he said it was well smart, but when they went to park their car on it slid of into the lawn and they had to get him to pull them out the mud.... :11:

Think you mean waterproof sealant Molly,ye can get it from the likes of B + Q,different finishes to it too,high gloss,semi gloss,matt.

 

Think ye have to recoat it every so oftenas it wears off in time.

Thompsons water seal ............. £8 odd a gallon and you can get it at B&Q...... this stuff also does fabric

It's an external clear silicon Moll, different tackle to brick sealant. Needs to be done every three yrs and is applied with a brush. Any half decent flag/pathing yard will sell it.

If its shiny it'll most likely be slippy and i wouldn't fancy my chances coming home lashed up when theres a bit of ice around, not that im a pisshead of course Moll

if im thinking of the same stuff when its quite new and it gets damp it is very slippery.
