Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
ok guys, after never hearing of hft untill i joined this forum, if im going to be participating in one (if i get to the meet) for the first time i thought id better do a bit of research into the subject so after briefly reading the rules i thought to my self... WHAT?! lol sounds to me like a right pain in the arse!! haha so... you cant ajust your zoom.. ok fair do's .. but your AO.. how you going to bloody see your targets!! fair enough after a bit of practice anybody can hit 15mm target at 45 yards.. but with a blurry sight picture and pallarax error and windage taken into account then maybe this is where the skill lies.. not knowing the distance to your target and having to guesstimate the range by looking at how many mildots in your ret cover it.. or how blurry it is depending where you set your zoom and AO.. sounds like to get a good score you need to really know your set up. so i give my respect to the peopl,e who goto all the effort of chopping and changing the variables untill they find what works best for them.. like i said i know F K all about it hahahaha also just one quick question.. you aalways must be touching the 'peg' for your score to count.. does that mean you can use it to rest on in a 'standing only' lane Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
It's not as hard as it makes out mate..... But yes, you do need to know your rifle and ranges inside out... Like I said mate, if you can get to Ferrybridge Services youre more than welcome to travel down Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
Your allowed to change your ao? So the blur a px error wouldn't be there mate.unless you set it to 30yrds and guessed what range it is. Iv never really looked into it myself , 8yrds to 45yrds it ranges from ain't it? I'm in two minds whether to enter myself lol but I make a good job of making a fool out of myself so might awwell hahaha Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
Nope.... In HFT once the scope is set you can't touch it ... Only in FT are you allowed to fanny about with it.... Darryl Quote Link to post

Sweeney-Todd 208
Here you go Skot........interesting read for you to ponder. http://www.anstonftc...pe-setup-guide/ When it comes to centering your scope, its worth the extra time to use V blocks, worth the effort. ..............or. http://www.bsaguns.c...s_settingup.php Highly recommend BKL mounts, just read the instructions carefully, and be patient and gentle when adjusting to mount on scope rail. A truly excellent mount, worth the extra money. ATB. Bill. Edited August 1, 2012 by Sweeney-Todd Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Daryl, i think me and Tony are trying to sort out a train journey.. we might need someone to come pick us up at the trainstation when we get there like... and it sounds like a laugh to be honest. like if you miss theres going to be a lot of friendly banter with some other lads/lasses im not a very competitve person so i couldnt give 2 S ts if i came last, i would just be in it for the fun.. saying that tho if i did win it might upset a few of the 'favorites'...... gurtwurz 793
It's a proper laugh mate, unless youre on the peg next to me and davy in which case it's quite difficult to shoot straight due to badly timed snorts of laughter (ask phantom lol)... If you know your gun and your rangefinding's ok you shouldn't do too badly, cos quite frankly, if I can do ok, then anyone can. Cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Don't worryits not hard to pick up, I hadn't done any shooting like that before the june meet, still really enjoyed it no matter what you will be impressed with how you shoot if its your first time. ATB Adam Quote Link to post
