Expensive Spares.

Recommended Posts

I recently had to order a replacement trigger spring for a BSA MK1 Airsporter from a well known

B,ham stockist from past experience I was carefull to give the model, series, and serial number

and also a description of the spring ie- a single leg hairspring. a small item less than 2 inches

long. As I half expected the replacement spring duly arrived nothing like the correct part and

not able to fit!. just to rub it in the cost was over £7.00. I sent it back, and managed to get a

replacement made from a chap who is a springmaker in West Brom, for £2.00!. I only raise this

subject because of the terrific prices being charged for old guns. Likewise the Scottish company

are allways very expensive but at least you can see exploded part details on their website.

MOAN OVER!. My wife and daughters tell me I am becoming a replacement Victor Meldew. :icon_eek:

hi Tron

i have also posted that they are expensive since they charged me £4.00 each for a BSA Meteor front stock screw, and that dose not include the crinkle washer! that was more ££

so now i go to John Knibbs

http://www.airgunspares.com/store/department/64/AIRGUN-SPARES/ for BSA parts

and Julian Bond http://www.airarmsspares.com/air-arms-spares/ for AA parts

both have been very helpful every time

Your right there Dave mate, earlier this year I had to get a BSA Meteor breech seal most stockists quoted £8.00!! Jeeze

in the past I have used Weirauch breech seals (sometimes you have to cut them down on the depth but they are good)

in the end I sourced pukka BSA mercury/ meteor/ seals from a gunshop in Stourport on severn for £2.00 plus postage

maybe a good idea if we all compiled a list of the places to go for spares at non rip off prices? Cheers.
