Applying for f.a.c and epilepsy?

i,m applying for my f.a.c but had 3 seizures while i slept was on tablets for a year this was 22 years ago .Do you think this will be a problem with with my application.

The only reason it would be an issue is if there is a substantial risk that a seizure will leave you unable to keep the weapons secure. If you haven't fitted for 22 years then the risk of a seizure is vanishingly small. Of course it's up to them to decide, so your best bet is to fire those applications off and see what they say, but if they look to refuse on the grounds of that, then you'd have a pretty good chance at appeal. Do you still take meds?

i would say thats down to a doctors report pal,if there is any chance of you having anouther one the police will probably say no.god forbid you had a fit and shot yourself or a pal they would get lynched for letting you have one.that said if you are succesful try to steer clear of semi autos.

only ever had three and i have not had medication or anything for 22 years

With a track record like that, I would be erring on the side of them granting you an FAC but as Matt says its down to them ultimately.

 

There are people out there with far worse either on record or on their medical charts than someone who hasn't had an epileptic fit for 22 years.

well if youve not had a fit for 3 years they give you your driving licence back after 22 yrs it shouldnt be a problem to get an fac

hi i suffered from bad seizures after i had a brain tumour but they still gave me my firearms including my 22 pistol i think i had t be 2yrs clear

I know it a odd question but are you sure you epileptic and it was not wrongly diagnosed I have 2 friends which were told they did not have epilepsie one of them was told this for just over 8 years she had fits blackout at least once a month for all this time then went for a test and had one during it and came away with the right meds and diagnoses now only has a fit every now and then.

i know what your saying mate just checked my dates and haven,t had one for 15 years
