Rewiring lamp.

Recommended Posts

Was having a mess about last night and the lamp died. It's a light force striker, and it's the wiring that has gone (as it will come on some times if you wiggle the wires).

I have pulled the red bit ut the bottem and the wires drop down, but cant seem to get the rest out (i'm probably being thick).

It's the one with the button on the front.

Any tips / advice and even better, a link to some kind of diagram?

Cheers.

Unscrew the button and the wiring to the button drops down aswell, abit fiddly to get back in but manageable, mind and not make the replacement cable too long or "seemingly" it draws current and it's not as bright as it should be, doubt there's any truth in that last bit but I have always kept it in mind.

iv had to rewire 2 of my lamps i had to drill the rivits out of the end of the lamp the bit which holds the bulb unscrew the button and push it through into the lamp then pull the end which holds the bulb out and you should be able to pull the whole wire through i find doing it this way is easier than trying to fiddle with wires inside the lamp once you've rewired it just thread the wires back through and push the button back into place and you should be sorted my 2 lamps are still working fine and i rewired them about 2 years ago now. hope you get it sorted pal atb
