well 93 gained some permision on land near lauder ,good for rabbits and a few hares about , old mate from barnsley d slieght and his pal not here now , up in gods land ,so we get katie fallon , and ians young fawn bitch , ferrets we take seven so we can work a few warrens , not wanting these southerners not getting sport ,lol

 

got the old series 3 landrover ,on we go up up till we are on the top land ,of cafrae mill, get dogs out have a rake about with dogs there found a few holes ,dogs marking , in with ferets we get a quick bolt, rex the ferret is doing his job as its late january and rabbits are sticking a bit ,

 

we ferret some big bankings , ending with 27 rabbs , we move down to lower land ,along the main road as nobodys tackled it for awhile nets on ferrets in rabbits bolting easy a sure sign they havent been botherd we take another 11,, 2 oclock we call it a day , a bit of snow coming ,

 

next day we go local some bramble bushes next to railway rex again a good dog ferret, we bolt 2 but the rest are sticking we get a small tally of 6, i says to davei there hares in the plantaition we put dogs through it i says to him ian wait at gate maybe get a bolter in to feild they do , litle katie nabs him retreives back to hand a rum little bitch, we go home skin the hare get it caseroled with tatties dumplings,

 

last day i says weel just work some rushes with dogs,as you have a bag full to take home,

 

so of wee go dogs working rushes on lammermuir, rabbits getting caut out , between cover and burries we get seven , and a hill hare ,the are over the moon , he says beats barnsley any day i laugh ,we see them off ian davey katie , last time i saw ian , such is life with the hunting game , he had a full sister to luke a nice little bitch , a wee story for the crack

i learnt my dog stuff from a mate with feild trail spaniels and just got away with dogs etc and learnd bits hear and there ,his high lite was second in uk with a spaniel cocker bitch at uk finals he got presented with the queen so was made up ,

use to be moving with rabbits at cafrae mill back in the nineties we had a walk round it 2 years back never saw any rabbits at all shame really . i remember being on that land with a half cut keeper that had been in the hotel till chipping out time [bANNED TEXT] taking us out lamping off a quad bike the fields were moving with rabbits in their thousand,s .
