Lab 10,979
If they don't bother your stock lab, surely they are helping your demand? Just because i no longer have a shoot anymore doesn't make me like them any less. There a pain in the arse and worse theres nothing legal you can do about it. Unlike the fox/badger the numbers they take at one time is limited so if the law was you were allowed to deal with a problem BOP then you could nip it in the bud pretty quick. My orders dont increase with the Buzzard population so there not helping demand.... there just a f*****g nuisance!!..
trigger2 3,317
I don't have a problem with buzzards, quite like seeing any bird of prey. Aye they might take the odd pheasant but so what? There are plenty of them about. i like seeing the buzzards and other birds of prey aswell baw, but do you not think that if there is large populations of them in areas they should be controlled. baw 4,360
Depends what you call large numbers. It's not like they are at levels equal to crows or rooks which are a bigger problem if you ask me. Or even that b*****d of a bird, the magpie. Is it just the shooters who have a problem with them? All the birds you've just mentioned can be controlled legally.......if there bothering you and costing you money you can do something about it, big difference with BOP's......... Now away ye go.... mickmck 716
but lab , if they give the green light to shoot them , dont you think it wouldnt be long before they would be only a few left , then they would have to start a programe to re indroduce them red kites !! never really used to see them , but there all over now ?? baw 4,360
:laugh; lab, your getting good. Paulus, you've never had a rookery near your bedroom window then loll

Could easily have a cull period MIck where you could control numbers at certain times. Nobody wants to go Buzzard shooting just a chance to control. You'd have some trouble trying to eradicate the numbers that we have now...
baw 4,360
Good point about the red kite, see a lot of them on the black isle.

The Buzzard is here in large numbers and growing by the year. And lets just say there would be a whole lot more if numbers were left to there own devices. But too be able to control problem birds would be a great start........ Wheres Danw............he'll be out shooting Buzzards no doubt..........f*****g keepers!!!!... baw 4,360
You see that's what annoys me about shooters, you aren't like us lurcherman. We are hunters, one with nature, work with nature. Whereas shooters want to control everything. You buy eggs, raise tame birds under nets, shoot tame birds. You have to burn the heather, kill anything that is a threat to your tame birds even if it's a rare golden eagle. It's all false and could be done indoors. You aren't hunters or naturalists your just interested in shooting anything legal or otherwise
