Help with next scope.

Recommended Posts

Hi, i am looking to replace the scope on my tx200, i have around £100 to spend and it will mainly be used at around 30-40 yrds and the odd bit of lamping, i have always been a fan of Hawke and am probably looking to get another, but there are that many now, HD, Varmint, Airmax etc, which would be best or is there a better branded scope for the money?

Many thanks for the help Ben.

Over the last few months I have had so many scopes I have lost count, I'm really indecisive. I thought I had a cracker in the MTC Viper but for HFT I thought the SCB reticle too thick (great optics). On a whim I picked up a Hawke Panorama 4-12x40 with a MAP6A reticle. I can't imagine a better reticle if I was to design it myself and it's good glass. I use it for HFT only but all things being equal I suspect it would be good for the field. I see one or two used for your budget.

If I was you mate I would save an extra £46 and get a Hawke Panorama EV 4-12x50 IR AO Rifle Scope

I use one on my HW97KT and I the optics are fabulous.

It would suit your springer very well.

I have a Panorama 3-9x50 which I am selling if you are interested. Its a cracking scope which I am only upgrading as I need AO for my Yukon NVMT. 3 months old so condition is like new. PM me if interested.

On a slightly different note, does anyone have any experience of the Map6A reticule? I am used to 1/2 MilDot, but Map6A looks like a good idea. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim
