gnasher16 31,602 Posted June 13, 2012 Report Share Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) ]well said gnash , thats a good summary of em when i was in italy . the press were buying us drinks , crates of beer just wanting to get pictures of us on the drink outside the train stations , me and my mate slept back to back on the platform in turin , my sock was full of coins just in case , there was a good little firm hanging about at the stations Thats it.....i remember a big group of us getting turned back at the Belgian border for the Romania game at Euro 2000....for no other reason than we were English !!.....you know yourself only a small % of fans travel to these tournaments with tickets they wouldnt let anyone in who never had a ticket......we,d already spent a day driving !!!...........now they have these fan zones and what not they,re not allowed to do it.......... ol bill in these countries detest us,other nations fans think we,re great Edited June 13, 2012 by gnasher16 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I forget what he said, but it went something along the lines of them basing themselves on the English firms, looking up to them, respecting them, welcoming them and not giving them any trouble at all unless they started it.. gnasher16 31,602 Posted June 13, 2012 Report Share Posted June 13, 2012 We have the biggest football intelligence plod anywhere in Europe.........what other countries dish out banning orders etc.......i was all up for that lark years ago but when they started dishing out bans that was it for me i love my football too much and thats how it was for a lot of people........you,ll always get the hardcore idiots who still want to run around doing it but for me it was the sort of thing that once you stood back and looked at it with a clear mind it was a pretty embarrassing way to spend your youth It will never be like that again in England....dont forget a lot of these countries are constantly in communication with our English football intelligence units as they,ve seen how things have worked here........... They were games as fu*k. Had a ring side seat in a chinese buffet place and when we left there was 5 sc stood on one side calling it on with dozens of forest on the other with very few OB (they had corralled the rest of the sc further up the road) and the forest wouldn't engage. I'll second that mate, think it's an English Welsh thing, i used to knock about with some Mansfield (and banned forest) lads a while ago, Shrewsbury was a hell of a place to go to away.. why i went back a second time god knows... fecking mad... seen some big lads with big reputations bottle it...!... a nasty fecking place..
