Thanks to Margaret Mc Stay for putting up the Showing Results and my apologies for delay in putting up these racing results.

 

My congratulations to all who ran in the various races and showed their dogs and the sporting manner in which most people accepted the results. The Novice racing was a big success and we look forward to the new Novice Championships at Shanes Castle on Saturday 7th July being a huge success.

 

 

Racing Results at Ballywalter

Terriers :

1st Vincent with Mist and 2^nd Liam with Vixen

 

Pure Bred Whippets:

1^st Kirsty Harpur with Sox 2^nd Jason Dunwoodie with Maggie

 

Due to some doubt as to the breeding of the winner ( which arose after the event ) Jason Dunwoodie’s Dog was received equivalent prizes to those which he would have received if he had won the race. Jason is happy with this resolution. Kirsty was not disqualified as I had been asked to rule on whether she could run in this class. Ultimately I ruled in favour of her running - so my mistake.

Non Ped Whippets/Under 21” Lurcher:

1^st Rose McCoy with Zola and 2^nd Deidre McCoy with Paris

 

Under 23” Lurcher Winner qualifies for Master McGrath:

1^st Rose Mc Coy with Diego and 2^nd N Greer with Sunshine

 

Over 23” Lurcher Winner qualifies for Master McGrath:

1^st Kirsty Harpur with Blade and 2^nd Gerard Lynch with Storm

 

Novice Races :

Rough Coated Lurcher Any size:

 

1^st David Sims – Stella and 2^nd Chantell Mc Meekin with Rosie

Terrier/Cross Lurcher Any size:

Smooth Coated Lurcher/Long Dog:

 

1^st Michelle Rafferty with Shyla and 2^nd Stephen Dumigan with Dash

Well done to Stephen Dumigan with Dash who apart from his 2^nd place in the racing also was Best Lurcher in Show and qualified for the Five Nations Championships at Birr on the 26th August.
