The one 8,595
There vermin but every farmers different some like to see a few rabbits running about some dont . One says i know whats there dont kill them for kills sake but if you can use them . But if your getting fox problems and you kill the vixen the dog fox can go on a killing spree to feed the cubs its a double edged sword you have to use common sense Quote Link to post
bunny tickler 876
good comment ,the one , i was at a big permission last week (he owns 5 huge farms ) i could see kits about everywhere ? he told me to kill them all ! . i said let them enjoy the summer then i will do the job . he agreed , so he is happy & i will have rabbits to eat ,instead of tiny kits to throw to my ferrets Quote Link to post
The one 8,595
Farmers are funny i got a phone call last week to do some ferreting and this ground is the worst numbers wise ive seen ,then i got a call to remove two rabbits from a garden . You can try and talk sense but most of the time your wasting your time Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,924
Spot on Chris K , I have permissions where the farmers wants to see me all year round, if I didn't then somebody else would get the permission sorry chris but my farmers have completele confidendence with me they trust my judgement ive had the same permissions for 20 + years if they want someone else on there land they are not happy with you, its a load of bollocks they wont let anyone else on , i know ive farmed for 50 yrs if they dont want you on they will tell you know It's because locally there is loads of lads looking for permission , I've had some permissions for 20 years and they are happy to see me whenever I go Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I have 4 small permissions, very small! All but one are Erradication jobs One permission the owner spoke to me the other week, I asked if she'd dad anymore problems, she said "No I think you killed em all" She was very happy indeed This one lady soon spoke to another with land I call "Bunny Land". And although she has not any problems yet and has not seen the bunnies herself on her land, I have and I know when they become a problem in the future, she will call me in again. In the meantime, I have a never ending battle on the Main permission. This is a cemetery that is Eradicate the lot. I cleared the big Central Warren, then moved onto the smaller warrens. Within two weeks the Central Warren was repopulated because the rabbits population across the road (where I dont shoot) expanded. Don't forget Rabbits are Nomadic, clear an area and it wont be long before it will be repoulated, expecially if food is abundant Tony Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Rats are also known as scaley tails! I thought it might have been a rat, so is a fluffy long tail a squirrel up north or is it the same as down south, as in bushy tailed tree rat?
