PLEDGEY 496
My wife has a pistol crossbow, and for Christmas a couple of years ago i got her a Barnett Lightning compound crossbow. Bad move....the thing is a pain in the ass. I have to cock the damn thing for her AND go and look for the bloody bolts. Most of the time it sits in the garage collecting dust, which is fine by me. I bought her a 8 shot .177 CO2 powered pistol. That is loads better, i only have to change the CO2 on that, and she's happy shooting at empty cans, and empty cans are easier to get hold of than sofas. The other thing is i can use it to dispatch rabbits I've trapped in me cages Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
what's the rationale behind the crossbow ban? Get hit by an air rifle pellet then by a crossbow bolt and see if you can figure it out... Quote Link to post

Get hit by an air rifle pellet then by a crossbow bolt and see if you can figure it out... That still doesn't make it illegal to own one, only hunt with one. I've a Barnet Quad 400 and the things bloody stupidly powerful. I bought it on a whim a few years back and it's been sat in a cupboard gathering dust pretty much ever since. I'd love to be able to use it for hunting though, I would imagine it'd be a useful tool for killing foxes around release pens, for example...... Quote Link to post
