can you use crossbows to hunt

Recommended Posts

My wife has a pistol crossbow, and for Christmas a couple of years ago i got her a Barnett Lightning compound crossbow. Bad move....the thing is a pain in the ass. I have to cock the damn thing for her AND go and look for the bloody bolts. Most of the time it sits in the garage collecting dust, which is fine by me. I bought her a 8 shot .177 CO2 powered pistol. That is loads better, i only have to change the CO2 on that, and she's happy shooting at empty cans, and empty cans are easier to get hold of than sofas. The other thing is i can use it to dispatch rabbits I've trapped in me cages :)

alright cheers bit bumed about not being able to hunt with them legaly thought it would be a good challange

do it anyway, but rambo style, headband, mud on face, the lot!.......but take one of the sucker ones you used to have as a kid with you aswell, if you get caught fire the sucker one onto their forehead and leg it!

what did you think i was planning on hunting with

 use one of those guns that just has a 'bang' sign coming out the end aswell.....f'ckin hillarious for some cock to call out the police and them sending the armed response unit and everything out to you and all you have is a sucker bow and a bang gun.....I will worship you forever if you do that!!!

the police will shake in there boots when they see me with this bad boy 002494.jpg

what's the rationale behind the crossbow ban?

Get hit by an air rifle pellet then by a crossbow bolt and see if you can figure it out...

That still doesn't make it illegal to own one, only hunt with one. I've a Barnet Quad 400 and the things bloody stupidly powerful. I bought it on a whim a few years back and it's been sat in a cupboard gathering dust pretty much ever since. I'd love to be able to use it for hunting though, I would imagine it'd be a useful tool for killing foxes around release pens, for example...... :whistling::thumbs::laugh:
