you might want to ask andyfr1968 lewis as he used to own one mate. i'm pretty certain his was very accurate, well beyond standard hunting ranges but i dont know how much work he'd done on it.

i tried one out myself last year( i mustve tried dozens of bloody rifles out last year looking for a decent carbine to compliment the pro sport...) and liked it, apart from when i went to cock it, i found i had to be stood up with the rifle pointing to the ground in order to cock the side lever. so not so good for static hunting! that might have been that one model though, so dont be put off.

andy's probably the best chap to ask though, as he definitely knows his way around them

cheers, wurz

Largest swept volume of any piston gun. Desighned to shoot at around 35ft/lbs or so. The most I saw from one was 79ft/lbs when the one I was tuning, dieseled ! lol, shot a hole in my shed.

BIG gun, heavy, and the build quality is superb. worth 65 sheets all day long.

Hi, Lewis. I got your PM the other day and I'm sorry for the delay. I'm old, I'm rubbish and I've been ill and for once it's not self inflicted :laugh:

For the money, even if it's a total shonker that at least still shoots, it's a bargain so buy it

Things to watch for once you have.... It's old, so it'll need at least a good strip and clean. The trigger mech's are prone to fill up with crap over the years and can be a bugger to strip down and rebuild. They are a self-contianed unit, however, and can be de-crapped and re-lubed without having to take the thing to bits. That's assuming it's working OK. The triggers on those can be a bit numb to the touch but a good clean tends to sort them out, but you'll have to remove the unit from the gun to do this properly.

As Rakes said, they are made for much higher power than we have in the UK and one of the hardest things about them is keeping them below 12ft-lbs, especially in .22. Take a chrono if you're bothered about such things, but if you ever need to put an airgun on ticket, there's no better springer than those Dianas

The side levers are prone to breaking given ham-fisted treatment or if the gun's been over sprung. Check for cracks where the cocking link joins the lever and also check that it's pin's not worn.

There's a few other bits and bobs on those and if I can help you at all, then please give me a shout. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm not otherwise indisposed :D

Cheers. (Thanks, Wurz :victory: ):D
