Tug 168
That's why I've rigged up a camera in the nest box! Means I can keep a comfortable distance until she's ready to let me handle them. Last thing I want is the jill getting distressed from trying to look in or poke a camera in. If she's really that aggressive then maybe you are getting too close too soon. Edited April 25, 2012 by Tug Quote Link to post
Guest vin
The mother to my jills was the same...my mate couldnt get near the cage. Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
It's best to begin with that you dO all feeding etc as you have the bond , last year even the sound of other people in the garden set the jill off Quote Link to post
The one 8,594
She sits looking at you and when you try to remove the rabbit remains shes pulled into the nest box shes like a bloody jack in the box hope she settles down as they get older Quote Link to post
shabadoodoo 16
My Jill is spot on she keeps running into the nest then back out, I think she wants me to have a look at the kits. I,ll wait a week before evening trying to look Quote Link to post
celtic 28
this like my polecat not let near her noo not drop yet Quote Link to post
Tug 168
Stop her dragging food back to the box, tie the rabbits leg to the side of the hutch. She can still tear flesh to take to the kits, but still leaves carcasse for you to take out when it's a bit old! Quote Link to post
BenjaminCadd 109
Same here mine are all the same snap at my hand, its only protective so i dont realy worry, but i just keep them on dry ferret food when they are in tup save moving there bedding around to find remains. Quote Link to post
The one 8,594
I like to drop a small or half grown rabbit in the bed section from three weeks though, even if they cant eat it the kits are all over it sucking it getting the juices and with a big litter it takes some of the stress off the jill Quote Link to post
