Some good shots in the RAF mate  .

When I shot at a higher level for the military some years back I shot against many good marksman from the RAF.

I always found the chefs, clerks and the Gurkha's were the best though. I think they had the most time to train.

It was 49mm 10 shot group Scramble.

Its nothing brilliant at 102 metres and Ive shot much smaller groups in the past but considering the intermittent winds we were competing with and I wasn't using a bipod like some it was good enough for me on the day.

I didn't get it actually on the zero part of the day. I got it on one of the practices.

There was a female soldier who scored a 37mm group size with 5 shots which was really good I thought but she was using a LSW and bipod so a good score should be expected.

She scored 1373 points overall though which wasn't so good especially as she was injured and could only shoot from the prone position for every practice and not the prone, standing, kneeling / sitting and trench shoot like everyone else did.

Oh and why all the ?????? mate?

Nice shooting zini  the smallest 5 round group ive seen from an SA80 @ 100m was 19mm :icon_eek: not sure why i put so many ??????

Scramble.

19mm for 5 shots is good.

Most groups now though we shoot are either 3 or 4 sets of 5 shots or a 10 shot group.

I shot a 25mm 5 shot group last year in Canada when checking a soldiers weapon for him while on range staff there for 6 months. I was using a iron sight though so was really happy with that.

thats some good shooting Si the guy who shot the 19mm group was also using iron sights which made it even more special as you say. i think 10 shots for a group is a much better indicator for good shooting as any bad hold/position will show over the longer shooting period.

True Scramble,

That's why when I do my clips on YouTube I 90 % of the time at 30 metres - ish do 10 shot and 14 shot groups.

A 1 holer with 5 shots is pretty simple, a 1 holer with 10 shots is much harder to achieve especially outside in the elements.
