Testing the refurbed TX200

Recommended Posts

Been to Steve Smiths shooting ground this morning, its the most local range to me and decided to put the TX through the mill

I started to feed it AA Field but as with the same story the skirts were all over the place causing flyers, then tried H&N FTT but found them quite tight to push into the barrel but the groupings were closing up.

My final choice were Daystate Rangemaster Li at 14.3gn which it decided it loved, so after cleaning & putting a hundred or so through in quick succession to lead the barrel I settle down to do a few groups to see if I could get back into shooting a springer again.....

I'm not going to embarrass myself by showng you the earlier groups as they were utterly horrendous by my standards but then things started taking shape.....

This is the best group of the day before the heavens opened and gave us a nice hail shower...

10 shots with 1 huge flyer and 1 small pull left(probably shooter error!!)

Thus endeth the lesson..... a refurbed springer than can pull groups as though it was straight out of the box

OOoooooh eck! Better start getting myself sorted with practice sessions ...sharp!

That is terrific springer shooting Darryl. And the more so for what you have put into your rifle's refurbishment.

Must try these Daystate Rangemasters in my TX200 rifle. I'm a bit concerned as to Air Arms pellet quality these days.

Great shooting mate. No problem there. I reckon had the weather been kinder to you on the day, you'd have easily gone on to tighten this group up as the barrel leaded-in with a bit more ammo, and taken it out to further range-distances!

Awesome group that for a spring rifle. I never got groups anything like that with my tx200 which was brand new, but then again I was using AA Field and we all know about the recent quality of those pellets. I'll never use them again!

I think that is my limit when it comes to groupings.

I've been at the range for a few hours every Sunday for the past few weeks, last week I got carried away and never left till 16:00hrs

Practice doesn't make you perfect, just better!....

I cant believe how smooth it shoots for a springer.

I can place a pellet on the top scope cap, fire the rifle and it moves a mere millimetre,,,

How do you find it when shooting 30+ yards mate?

As in the above post mate, the firing cylce is so smooth providing I do my part I've every confidence in taking long range shots.

So much so I'm thinking of using it for the THL meet HFT ;)
