quick question

does anyone know of any rivers in the lancashire area that hold pike? reason ime asking is because theres a few resevoirs and fisheries with pike around me but no rivers big enough for pike and i prefer wondering down a river with a few spinners for an hour or 2. cheers.

The rivers are closed for course fishing till june the 16th if you were thinking of fishing any rivers now.

You can fly fish with the apropriate rod license.

its always worth trying somewhere different pal,years ago people didnt fish for pike in the bridgewater canal,saying there wasnt many in there,we took the place apart for about 4 years before others jumped on the bandwagon and ruined it.funny really ,when others cottoned on to it they were all fishing the same stretches catching jacks,whilst we were landing some LARGE pike on still unfished stretches 5 doubles in a morning was average!!plenty of twenties and some bigger,when you find em keep it quiet (apart from me) atb dave

I love walking up and down the Lancaster canal with a few spinners. Some crackers in there but plenty of jacks to keep you entertained

Yeah mate had plenty on deadbaits to, usually the bigger ones. Lots of jacks, plenty between 10-20lbs and a few bigger (not many tho) worth a go if your in the area.

Most canals you can fish all year round al say it again about a rod license theirs been over 70 odd been done in s.yorks this last year with fines of 150 pound and 200 pound court costs for the sake of a £27 rod license.

The bridgewater was an excellent canal for pike and carp, but i started fishing it in late 's and only runcorn end, upto preston brook. I had'nt fished it since 2001, and went back 2 year's ago, with my 2 son's, we were just general float fishing, nothing serious, but totally enjoyed it, need to get back there this year.
