Marvin 193
Just been given a Edgar Bro's Model 60, with silencer and sights for free, I know it cant be a top shelf gun when someone has gifted it, but im looking for informative feedback on these rifles good or bad, but would prefer a little more than must be crap if given for free!! Rake aboot 4,936
A decent plinking tool but not much else really, I`ve never been impressed with the Hatstands, build quality and consintency are not great. Not bad for nowt though. Edited to add Don`t point it at anything alive. They are not really a hunting rifle imo. Quote Link to post
19powell90 89
great to throw at a target in the garden ( yes i mean the actual rifle ) but not much else Quote Link to post
Marvin 193
Oh well, at least I can practice my aim till something better comes along Cheers guys Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Whoa, Rake put the brake on! These are a decent little rifle! They are also sold as a Webley Stingray mark 2, which people will rate for hunting. It is the same damned gun. Try it in the back garden first, you will find it is consistent, but noisy, they do twang! This can be fixed with a strip down and relube. I have hunted with a Stingray mark 2! Depending on the age of the rifle, it can have a decent 2 stage trigger (quattro) and a recoil damping system (sas). Does yours have the fibre optic (ie red and green dot) or plain black gun sight? Get it chronoed, Test the power. should be putting out over 11 foot lbs! It is not the best rifle on the market but it is far from the worst! Enjoy your Webley with a better safety catch! Rake aboot 4,936
hahaha,, no luck Mike, you still haven`t convinced me, The are only just better than the SMK`s in my view. What I will say though, is that its a good buy for a freebie, so it`s worthwhile making a project out of it, and get it stripped and sorted, see if yeh can make a silk purse out of a pigs ear mibbe !?. TBH, you can`t critisise a FREE gun too much, can you !? Be interesting to see what could be done with it. Or,, hang around a wee while and Mike will buy it from you as he misses his hatstand ! secretagentmole 1,701
I don't Rake, I got a new one, a new gas ram powered one.... Welsh Willy aka Woodfield Gun Care Products does tune up accessories for this rifle, you can also get gas rams for it! Edited March 29, 2012 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
Marvin 193
been out with a respected member of this site today and he reckons the trigger could do with a bit of work, so if anyone can recommend a trigger tweak for this rifle i would be grateful Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
If you have tried adjusting and all else fails talk to these chaps! http://www.woodfield-gcp.co.uk/a-custom-parts.htm They will know the answer! Quote Link to post

Ground down the trigger guard which gave a little extra on the adjustment screw, still a little tight but loads better, no need to squeeze like f**k to fire it now lol Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
My opinion...................Dont use on live quarry....i know mr mole is gunna freak at this but you would be bettor off setting fire to it lol Its cluncky...loud and has to much recoil Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Try the artillery hold, I have heard some can be more fierce than others on recoil. I used to be able to do a 1 inch group at 20 yards with my old spring powered one though! Quote Link to post
Marvin 193
artillery hold ??? Quote Link to post
