3/4 grey 1/4 collie on day time hare ????

how did people go with 3/4 grey 1/4 border collie on day time hare before the ban come along

My two did ok, not in the same class as a good saluki bred, but good enough for a days sport.

A friend had a very good 3/4 bred dog that did them very well, fast and could stay.

friend of mine had a cracking 3/4 dog right few years back mate taking hares no problem day and night,pre ban of course,got myself one heres a pic

they would be o.k for a couple of quick runs on smaller land but on big land would tire way to easy,then again theres one on a coursing vid i got and it takes 3 out 3 on the fen

my mate had one and it was pretty good, but you wouldnt say it was an out and out hare dog. When it got a bit of age on it though the dog went off them a little. but not a bad alrounder. the dog was not commercial bred, it was bred from working collie stock.

I have a 3/4bred greyxcollie and if hes as keen on hare as he is on the other stuff than i cant see there being to much of a problem. speed wise hes up there but as for staminer, lets say he may not have it for a long drawn out course.

Ive had a few of these,good dogs for most work,fast enough for hares but all lacked the stay for a long run on big land.
