Out With Patterdalejoel up in the dales

Recommended Posts

Today we decided to go for a bit of ferreting seen as it was half term and we were both bored, me and Patterdalejoel, without that messer DeepEarth and his awesome shovel :whistling: we did some sets in a feild and lost 2 due to 1 bolting straght after another and obviously having no net to hold it, and me probably grabbing a net and not the rabbit, ill take the blame for that one :cray: we also had a dig, when we broke through i only had hold of the ear with 2 fingers and it jolted back down what was probably a stopend. we then started to dig again a new hole along the stop end when joels little jill was still down and she started digging at the rabbit. as i was hard digging the jill managed to draw the rabbit out and it saw joel and tried to bolt down the other end of the hole but joels cat like reflexes grabbed it, very impressed with this jill, so would whin as it was a big strong hill rabbit and a small female ferret, not a big dog ferret

we then wandered up and lost a rabbit in a warren as the ferret wernt cooperating and sticking with the rabbit, oh well. we then trekked up the hill to the top of the vallley, and bolted a couple of rabbits after my lab flushed them out and marked the warrens, would of got more rabbits but they were just sitting on top and not going down :cray: again big strong hill rabbits and not a dog ferret in sight whin :cray::laugh: we then went home, the rabbits destined for joels pup as food then went to the auction to sell some of deepearth's cockerels to the ethnics as DIY halal (haha joe was not happy about that) thanks for reading

how is that young pup coming on joel?

yep shes doing well, she was chasing bolting rabbits but id rather her not as iv heard it can cause her to yap while chasing, she can get bored and isnt focused on what is going on yet, but obviously that is to be expected due to her age and only going out a few times
