I picked one up in .177 with fixed mag scope and gunbag last year, paid £160 but the bloke wanted rid of her, Damned nice gun, even in .177 the recoil is low. These things are hellishly accurate but a bit on the weighty side, hell of a hunk of wood on id, cuts down recoil I suppose. Lovely gun, has an unfair reputation for eating fingers due to there being no anti bear trap, just make sure the safety works and that you keep your hand on that underlever at all times whilst loading and your fingers will be safe.

Can be a pain for left handers to load due to the loading port/trap being on the right hand side of the gun!

Thnx for your feedback, I'm not sure if I should be looking for the tx mk1 or a tuned hw95/95k, my gut feeling is to buy an old .22 Hw95 and get it tuned so I know it's been done properly. I did find a tx mk1 with a DIY V-mach fitted, but it hasn't been checked and I'm a bit twitchy about buying it. What do you think? Darren

Can be very easily overpowered. Has the person you are buying it from got a chrono to check the power level? If not, can you get a chrono to check the gun?

The TX200 does not really need a tuning kit I think, as it is recoil is very little and it is a very steady shooting platform. Find a nice TX and spend half the money on a genuine AA service kit!

No, that's the problem; he's just fitted a DIY v Mach kit on it and I don't want to buy and then have it put on a chrono to have it stripped down again, I'll probably stay clear. I'm looking to a .22 for squirrels, preferably a break barrel for speed, I already have a 97k that I purchased from S F Sports, now I'm looking for a cheap .22 setup so my young son can use it as well, hence the reason for a 95 over a tx due to the weight. I'll keep looking locally until one crops up. Cheers Darren

Hi Darren.

I can understand you being wary of the AA, especially with a DIY job done on it.

Different story if you know the person, and the rifle.

Two things I noticed in your post.

Was that you purchased a 97K from Sandwell Field Sports.

Second, you made mention of the HW95.

Have a word with Tony re the 95, he may have a second user one in stock.

The 95 is a nice rifle and not so heavy.
