rob190364 2,594
In summer I take mine out to big open fields, preferably with long grass, and just let them have a rummage around. I've ferret proofed my yard aswell and just leave them wandering round that for 4 or 5 hours a day when they're not working Quote Link to post
shabadoodoo 16
ive got a big court with runs and things for them to climb up Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
A big court is the best thing for working ferrets IMHO, There like anything the more they move the fitter they are and the more space they have the more they move, Quote Link to post
The one 8,585
I give them a run about in the garage but getting them out 3/4 times helps Quote Link to post

Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
how do you get your ferrets fit and ready putting them through pipes walking them on leads having a big court or hutch want to hear some ideas A good question and a part of ferret ownership and working sadly overlooked by alot of owner/workers. They expect them to be caged up from the moment the season finishes to the start of the next season with little or no activty and little handling. And then bosch think it great to take them out and do a 20 hole bury Well we have a large run with tunnels ramps brigdes etc and at the begining of the season work all 15 ferts in little stints in small buries building there fitness. Now towards the end the season now the musle strength on ours is amazing a job to hold them in your hands due to shear mussle. ATB Cookie Quote Link to post
