ftm 3,357
it was raining quite heavy last night so decided to check on a magpie roost,it was about 9.30 when i ventured out and it wasnt long before i thought to myself"bloody idiot" any way the cloud cover was perfect for roost shooting and the 1st wood presented me with a lovely wood-pigeon which dropped without as much as a flap .i jammed it in the fork of a tree to collect on way back and went deeper into the wood ,woodies were every where and started taking off my aim was to find the magpies so i left a few easy pigeons and walked on .right at the edge of the wood i could hear them chattering so with carefull steps i managed to get within range of them 1st one was sitting tight against a large poplar and i put the cross hairs on it and bloody missed! sending the rest into panic mode and as i looked to my left one had landed 20 yds away and this one wasnt so lucky .i hid in the knowledge that most would return and as they did i picked them off i managed 7 but could only find 5 and decidedto head back through the wood as i was like a drowned rat and the scopes where misting up i picked a few long shots on a few woodies to add to the bag,as i got to my 1st stashed woody i caught the sight of a fox pulling it from the tree and it was away with it [cheeky bugger] but i wasnt that bothered .i could have taken loadsof pigeon but they were so easy i thought it wasnt really sporting hope you enjoy the read lads 1 Quote Link to post
