Tron 173
There is only three places it can be leaking from, the firing valve, the filling valve or from the pressure gauge. As Rossie has advised a ballon taped to the muzzle will show if its the firing valve. or for a quicker diagnosis fill it . then put a bubble of oil on the muzzle and see if it holds? if its ok then dip the filling valve into a bowl of water! no bubbles? then pour a small amount of oil around the pressure valve mounting. Cheers Tron. Quote Link to post

Buster321c 1,010
if its ok then dip the filling valve into a bowl of water! no bubbles? Thats a sure fire way to get water / moisture unside the rifle . I would`nt do that , thats for sure . Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
If air is exiting via the fill valve it will blow any water out, not suck it in! The one thing to make sure of is that you dry the cylinder and valve thoroughly afterwards!Just make sure you cover the barrel end up with a bag though! Quote Link to post

Cant even be arsed to answer to this stupid post . Mate do yourself a favour and DONT put it in the water , as the filters on the filler WILL get wet , and moisture inside a PCP is something you dont want . Quote Link to post

No?. then get yourself off down to NSP Engineering the makers of Air Arms and see how the professionals do it. no doubt you would use thin oil or parafin and hope it wouldnt explode on its next fill. NO , ide just change all the seals , You can get a full set of genuine AA seals for under a tenner . Why would you use Dry Air , and then chance moisture in the cylinder . Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Well you would not fill it up straight after an immersion would you? Secondly just had a look at the manual, nowhere in the breakdown diagram can I find mention of a filter! This is of course from Air Arms own website! Now I have also checked over the document (it was a PDF) with the search facility, the only time filter came up was clean dry filtered air from diving cylinders being recommended over pump air! secretagentmole 1,701
The other alternative is a can of this http://www.directindustry.com/prod/itw-spraytec/gas-leak-detector-sprays-37247-250944.html from http://www.screwfix.com/p/leak-detection-spray-400ml/41019 This is something I have seen some very accomplished gunsmiths using!!!!
