new permission

I called round to a farm near my local ferreting permission yesterday just to try my luck at getting a bit more land and it worked, i told the farmer i was ferreting on a certain farmers land and had cleared the bunnies up and was calling in on the odd farm to get some more??? yes! he said follow me, jesus that was a quick reply......

so off he went in his van with me following, he stopped at three different fields pointing out the hot spots, he told me some young kids had been the month before but didnt know how they went on???. when can you come he said? ill be here tommorrow at 8am, couldnt believe my luck, the fields were full of scrats and rabbit shit, holes allover the place, so me and baz set about it this morn, we didnt get the perfect start as they wouldnt bolt and most times we where looking at 7ft digs? on a high hedge banking not my cup of tea, 4fts about my depth!! we missed a couple of well hidden bolt holes, one slipped the net only to get back netted with baz in hot persuit!! and then showing me how he used to pull his stretch armstrong lol!

we got packed up on this hedge they were stubburn as hell to bolt and looked like a lot of digging had to be done?? so we packed up and drove down to the other field, a lot better this time... set our stall out and with all our nets 40+, not enough on this occasion so had to leave a few, big mistake all the holes were linked to one big warren, just hoped the dog would pick them up?? we netted a couple but 3 came out of the unetted holes and dropped in the end of the set, picked up the other nets and made sure these wernt getting away? dug to one 2ft, bolted another 2, end tally 7 in 5hrs, should have been double figures, but thats life, plenty more to go at.
