paulus 26
So bolt action it is then by sound of it! Next question! I have seen some CZ Brno's for around 300 second hand, and Brno's for between 100 - 200. Can someone explain the difference? Would there be a world of difference between and Anschutz, Ruger and CZ? there seems to be plenty to choose from. Thaks for the info, Tim. bruno became cz so if the gun is a bruno is older than a cz main difference is ££££ mind i do like anschutz Quote Link to post

andyf 144
OK The CZ/brno it's all to do with 'how old', assuming it's a gunshop selling the rifle, if t says CZ it's 'newer' than 1995. if it says brno it's before that! BUT all that is 'tosh' really, check the ACTUAL rifle out, if the screws are unmarked, the stock undamaged, it may be 30+ years old BUT it's a diamond, however if it's 'graunched' screws, and rough as a badgers ARS#, then leave it. At this time, if you can resist the 'sales team', and a CZ/brno is on your shopping list, just buy a 'new' one! (CZ Varmint HB). AndyF Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
I have a 10/22, a mate of mine has a an Anchutz, in terms of accuracy I would say his Anshutz has it when we are talking shots out to 100 yards. That's not to say the 10/22 won't hit the target at that distance it's just his will group better. BUT I'm not a target shooter where I benifit is if there are three rabbits in a field close to each other I have much more of a chance at bagging 2 maybe 3 of them to his 1. Yes I suffer from the occasional jam but this is only the case getting stuck in the sliding bolt on ejection it's just a simple case of pulling back letting it fall out. I have noticed ths occurrs more when the rifle is cleaned so I wait till it needs a proper clean before doing so Atb Seeker Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Hi guys, just wondering really why there seems to be a big price difference between semi auto and bolt action .22lr's on the second hand market? Any info on the subject would be great? Are bolt action generally better? Surely they can be more accurate or have greater range?T range is the same, the bolt action does have the edge on accuracy, semi autos are cheaper to manufacture as there is no bolt. a new bolt alone for say a cz is over £100. I think you have gone off key a bit there! The bolt is fundamentally the same for every Bolt Action CZ Rimfire, and they make thousands, it only costs £100 to you, the manufacturing price will be hardly any more than pennies on the amount they make. So what is it about the action of a semi that makes it cheaper? Quote Link to post
